UK tax estimates, step by step.
01
Income Tax estimates for sole traders
The workspace supports UK non-savings, non-dividend Income Tax estimates for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 tax years. Choose the supported year and your tax residence, including Scotland where applicable, before entering income and adjustments.
02
Review profit and adjustments
Trading profit alone may not describe your taxable position. Review other non-savings income, disallowed expenses, capital allowances, trading loss relief and tax already paid. Check whether the Class 4 National Insurance exemption setting applies to your circumstances.
03
Corporation Tax preparation
Company tax preparation uses your selected accounting period and recorded figures. Review losses, reliefs, associated companies and other relevant company circumstances before relying on an estimate. The workspace calculation is preparation support, not an HMRC determination.
04
Know what the estimate leaves out
The sole trader estimate does not cover savings or dividend taxation and is not a complete Self Assessment calculation. Return rounding, additional liabilities and reliefs may change the final result. Review the assumptions and obtain advice for circumstances outside the supported calculation.
Good to know
Your questions, answered.
Does this calculate my final tax bill?
No. It produces preparation estimates within the supported calculation. Your final liability depends on your full circumstances, the relevant tax rules and the completed return.
Are Scottish Income Tax estimates supported?
The sole trader calculation has a Scotland option for supported tax years. Select the correct tax residence before reviewing the estimate.
Can InvoiceKO submit the tax return?
No. Prepare and review your records, then use the appropriate filing process, an accountant or compatible tax software.
